Jennbizzle Reviews: Younique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes

Younique is a brand that is sold through in-home parties, similar to Jamberry. They’ve got a whole line of beauty products, but this is by far their most popular. Recently, it’s become popular to have “virtual” in-home parties via groups or events on Facebook. One of my friends had one, so I decided to try this mascara out. It’s a bit pricey, I’ll admit. I was torn on whether to buy it because of the price, but I bit the bullet for my readers!

My Review

This isn’t just your ordinary mascara, it’s a complete lash treatment. You receive a flip open case that looks similar to a protective case for eyeglasses. Inside are two mascara tubes, one shorter than the other, held in by little leather loops. One tube is the Transplanting Gel, which has a mascara applicator and looks just like your typical mascara. You apply this first. Then, the shorter tube is the Moodstruck Natural Fibers. Here’s where things get a little “hairy”. The applicator in this tube looks like a long, black cotton swab. After using the Transplanting Gel, you rub this wand against your lashes and they pick up the fibers on the applicator.

  • Step one. Curl your lashes
  • Step two. Apply your mascara primer, some also like to apply their regular mascara at this point. I don’t think it’s necessary.
  • Step three. Apply the Transplanting Gel as you would mascara.
  • Step four. Apply Natural Fibers.
  • Step five. Re-apply Transplanting Gel to secure the fibers.
  • Step six. Repeat until you get the lash length you desire.
  • Step seven. Dust the loose fibers off your cheeks. 🙂

You can then add mascara to your lower lids to complete the look.

I didn’t have time to take a video, but I found this excellent tutorial and review by Alexandrea Garza. She has much longer natural lashes than I do, but we pretty much got the same results. Check it out!

For me, this process seems to take forever. I only use it when I’m going out or when I want a really dramatic eye look. It does work, but it can easily get clumpy and messy if you don’t take the time. I’m the mom of an eight month old, so I don’t always have the time!

Also, I tend to get fibers in my eye most of the times I apply this product. So that’s kind of a bummer.Jennbizzle Reviews: Younique Moodstruck Fiber Lashes

  • Likes: The length & thickness that this product gives my lashes!
  • Dislikes: The messiness of the extra fibers, the long process and having to get it JUST RIGHT or you find yourself with a clumpy mess.
  • Would I Purchase? I did purchase this at full price, but because of the price I’m not sure if I’ll purchase again.

What do you think about Younique Fiber Lashes? Have you tried them yet? Love it or leave it?
