Jennbizzle Reviews: Marc Anthony Curl Defining Lotion

No Compensation

When I first got my hair cut short, I tried to get them to give me a light perm so that I could have soft, beachy waves in my hair that’s typically weirdly-wavy in some areas, and stick straight in others. But the stylist burst my dream hair bubble when she said she’d have to charge me for a full perm and people are rarely satisfied because a light perm comes out very quickly. I was determined to get beachy waves and decided that I’d go get ALL THE BEACHY WAVES PRODUCTS because then all would be right in the world. Then I got to Ulta and realized just how expensive all the products were. So I went for a product line that had items for under $10 each and had decent reviews. This is the result of that curly product binge.

My Review

This product comes in a tube and looks suspiciously like gel. It smells nice and it isn’t sticky like gel. It feels more like the texture of shampoo than gel, and it goes in your hair much the same way. It doesn’t leave your hair crunchy, but does provide some “hold” and definition to existing curls.

I was looking for something that creates curls, so to get this product to work, I’ve got to do a TON of diffusing before and during use. I usually use a curl creating product and diffuse. Then, when my hair is half dry, I add some curl defining cream. I finish diffusing until dry and add a bit more cream where necessary. It’s not a bad product, I just wish it did more so I have to do less work.

  • Likes: The citrus-y smell + it’s not extremely sticky on your fingers like gel.
  • Dislikes: It doesn’t create enough curl for my wavy hair. It would probably be better suited to ringlet-style curly hair.
  • Would I Purchase? I won’t purchase this product again because it doesn’t work for me.
