My Foodie Pen Pal Box for June

I came across The Lean Green Bean‘s Foodie Pen Pal program last month, and signed up on a whim. A week later, I signed up (on a whim, are we seeing a pattern?) for Nicole’s 30-Day Sugar Detox. So two week after that, when I got an email explaining the ins and outs of the Foodie Pen Pal program, I got sad. I had to tell my partner that I gave up sugar for the month and asked her kindly not to send me too many tempting things! THEN, I had to go out and buy sweet things for my pen pal and not buy any for myself. THAT’S AN EXERCISE IN RESTRAINT!

Without further adieu, here’s the reveal of my Foodie PenPal box for June!

Thanks, Michelle!

My pen pal was Michelle from Cincinnati. I told her that I couldn’t enjoy sweets, even though she wanted to send me some delicious homemade sweets, but that I loved coffee! So she sent me ground chicory, which is a regional substitute for coffee (is that correct?). She also sent a sample sized vanilla flavored coffee and some herbal teas for my sugar detox. I told her that it would be okay to include one sweet thing that I could save till the end of the month to enjoy. So she made me some home made peppermint patties that I can’t wait to try. I loved her sweet, handwritten note!

I’ll be taking the next two months off form this because HOLY WEDDING PLANNING. But I’m definitely going to come back and sign up again once life calms down. I just love getting treats in the mail! If you want to sign up, head over to The Lean Green Bean and sign up!
